Master Sgt Karen Chachere is in her 12th year of teaching Air Force JROTC serving her 6th at Biloxi High School. Originally from Opelousas, LA, she served 22 years active duty retiring in 2013. MSgt Chachere is an Air Force combat medic and pharmacy technician. Assignments include serving as a Military Training Instructor and Professional Military Education Instructor and Director of Operations and Resources at Keesler Air Force Base. Leading young men and women in the Air Force JROTC program was a natural stepping stone especially after serving as a First Sergeant of the Mathes Non-commisioned Officer Academy! Master Sgt Chachere holds a Bachelor’s in Geography and Masters Degree in American History. She is the proud mother of a son who participated in the Biloxi High School AFJROTC program and is now an active duty Air Force Technical Sgt. Tech Sgt Castillo along with his wife active duty TSgt Castillo are proud parents of her 2 beloved grandchildren!
